Trauma, Resilience, & Healing
Creating a Platform for Dialogue and Community Solutions
After two years of COVID-19, people living with HIV and those who work in the community-based organizations that serve them are dealing with exacerbated, chronic trauma on multiple levels—personal, vicarious, organizational, and community-wide. When our communities are in crisis, we show up, but after two years of crisis mode the compounded effects of daily trauma have taken a toll.
This two-part training will give you new skills in understanding and recognizing trauma and its impacts, along with accessible, easily replicable practices that are proven to assist in healing the effects of trauma in ourselves, those we work with, and our wider communities.
- Part 1, a 60-minute recorded lecture, will offer an overview of current understandings of trauma and how it rewires our brains and our nervous systems, drawing from wisdom from neuroscience and somatic experiencing.
- Part 2, a 90-minute live webinar, will use a popular education-style approach to introduce new ways of thinking about resilience and a variety of concrete, simple practices that have been proven to help heal the effects of trauma.
The webinar will be held on Wednesday, May 25 at 1pm Eastern / 10am Pacific.
Note: registration is limited to 50 people. Reserve your place now!
